Grant Awards Program

 

All CSU-ERFSA members in good standing whether faculty, staff, or administrators (a membership application may be made concurrently with a grant application) may apply for funds to support research and creative projects that are in accordance with the following goals:

1) Scholarly research on issues important to the retiree as a continuing member of an academic discipline or community.

2) Research and scholarly projects that contribute to the quality of life of the retirees in the University system.

3) Research and creative projects that contribute to a given academic discipline.

4) Research pertaining to the retirement concerns of faculty and staff within the California State University System.  Links to the complete guidelines for the Grant Awards Program and the application form are provided below.

Funds for the CSU-ERFSA grants are provided by the CSU-ERFA Charitable Foundation.  CSU-ERFSA makes a contribution to the Foundation in memory of each deceased member.  Individual members and friends also may make contributions to the the CSU-ERFA Charitable Foundation to support the Grant Awards Program.

Contributions to the CSU-ERFA Charitable Foundation can be made by check, by monthly deduction from your CalPERS retirement warrant if you are a CSU-ERFSA member. Use this form for donations via check or monthly deduction.

Donations also can be made via credit card, debit card, or a transfer from your PayPal account.

The CSU-ERFA Charitable Foundation currently holds a PLATINUM Seal rating for transparency from GuideStar.

Typically, one to four grant awards are made each year, and the grants range from a few hundred dollars to $1,000 in value, though larger awards are possible.  The total amount available for the 2023 grant cycle is expected to be approximately $6000.  Grant applications for the 2023 cycle may be submitted beginning July 1, 2023.  Please use the links below to download program guidelines and application forms for the 2023 grant cycle.

The deadline for the submission of proposals for the 2023 grant award cycle is October 31, 2023 at 2 PM PST.  Proposals may be submitted anytime after July 1, 2023, but must be received by the October 31st deadline.  Notification of grant awards will be made in December of 2023.  Contact CSU-ERFSA headquarters at (818) 677-6522 or use the links below for application materials, or for more information about contributing to the CSU-ERFA Charitable Foundation.

Please note that CSU-ERFSA grant recipients are required to submit a brief year-end report describing the results of their projects.
