For those of you with older iPhones and iPads, Apple has issued the following update - iOS 12.5.3 to fix the same vulnerabilities.
Installation of the update is not difficult. For iPads and iPhones tap on the settings icon, then on the "General" button. Tap on the "Software Update" option and request the latest version of the operating system.
The download, preparation and installation of the update takes roughly 25 minutes, so be sure your device is charging while you are installing the update.
