Chrome Browser Security Vulnerabilities

The campus IT department at CSU Fullerton sent out an alert on 2/5/21 concerning security vulnerabilities in the Chrome web browser.

If you use Chrome on any of your devices, you are urged to update immediately to the most recent version of Chrome, which avoids these vulnerabilities. The update is easy to install:

On computers - PC or Mac - start Chrome, then click on the three dots in the upper-right corner of the browser window. Scroll down to "help" and click on "About Google Chrome." If you don't have the latest version of Chrome, you will be prompted to update. When the update completes, click on "relaunch" and you are done.

On Android tablets and smartphones, go to the PlayStore app and click on the three bars in the upper left, then click on "My apps and games," then click on "Update all" to make sure all your apps including Chrome are updated to the latest versions.

On Apple I-pads and I-phones, click on the "Settings" button, then click on "App Store," then make sure that under "AUTOMATIC DOWNLOADS" both the "Apps" switch and "App Updates" switch are in the ON position.

If you run into any problems with these procedures, send an email to the CSU-ERFSA webmaster.
